A Dunas Race Production
From 1996 Sertões International Rally started to shape it's professional characteristic. Dunas Race was created with the objective of formatting a modern business enterprise exclusively to produce the event, involving more than 300 people in the first year of business. The help of new collaborators and partners was key for this growth. By that time, Fortaleza, capital of the state of Ceará was the final destination of the race, this time involving 54 bike riders and 23 cars from Brazil and abroad, crossing more than 5 thousand kilometers.

With the first step set, Dunas Race started to develop the rally in all its segments. From 1997, thanks to the new event's profile, under the command of Marcos Ermírio de Moraes, private initiative and media started to demonstrate interest in the rally.

In the four following editions (1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001), Sertões International Rally grew bigger and bigger. New sponsors, more racers in all categories, the creation of Trucks category (1999/2000), international promotion, larger domestic promotion, among many other factors, have solidified the race for the new millennium.

Completing years in , Sertões International Rally has become a platform for important interests in the country, and now it is considered a complete event, gathering competition, tourism, economy, social and environmental responsibility, besides being the world second largest off-road event.
